Julia Siedl was born in Vienna, nevertheless her educational beginnings can be found in nearby Klosterneuburg. Already at the early age of seven she began to take piano lessons. After school she continued her studies athe the conservatory in Vienna, where she studied piano and graduated in 2002. Apart from music she also studied journalism and communication and graduated with honors at both universities. In 2002 and 2003 her master studies in London at the „Central Saint Martin´s College of Art and Design“ followed. Julia recerived her musical fine tuning during her stays in New York in 2008 and 2010, where she studied with Marc Copland and the brasilian pianist Cidinho Teixeira.
Since 2004 Julia Siedl is working as self-employed pianist, composer and pedagogue in the Austrian Jazz and world music scene. That she is very professional and successful is mirrored by the long list of musicians with which she has already entered the stage together.
Julia Siedl is confident, imaginative and „out of the box“ when playing the piano, moreover, she shows her Know-How through her compositional abilities. She can, without doubt, be seen as one of the female pioneers of the jazz scene in Austria.
Her versatile field of activities and the list of high carat musicians she already worked with, proof her musical and compositional competence and her extraordinary niveau.
